Cognitive Assessment (Neuropsychology)

Cognitive assessment or neuropsychology is the study of brain-behaviour relationships and is used to determine which parts of the brain are functioning well and which parts of the brain may not be functioning well.

  • Cognitive assessment can be used to identify cognitive strengths and weaknesses, as well as stability or change in cognitive functioning as a result of illness or intervention.
  • Diagnostic procedures are used to determine the cause of any cognitive difficulties.
  • The impact of cognitive difficulties can be evaluated and suggestions will be offered to assist in dealing with the outcome.
